DeVille
Vannik
DeVille is an actor, stuntman and instructor with 18 years of film industry experience. He heads up Turbo Training, providing professional stunt and action performance training in Cape Town and abroad.
The record
DeVille grew up a little differently, often outside and climbing on top of the highest things just to see if he could. Early on he was inspired by Hong Kong legends like Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee, executing incredible action sequences. He did gymnastics as a kid and later discovered Parkour, going on to represent South Africa at the Red Bull Art of Motion in the United States.
He studied acting at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts before moving to Los Angeles, where he honed his acting craft and earned his stripes as a stuntman in Hollywood. DeVille was one of the first head coaches teaching Parkour and Freerunning at the world-renowned Tempest Freerunning Academy.
He has stunt doubled for actors like Ethan Hawke, Guy Pearce, Shah Rukh Khan and Richard Madden, recently doubling for Taz Skylar as Sanji in Netflix’s One Piece live-action adaptation.
DeVille has appeared in blockbusters like Maze Runner, Bloodshot, Chappie, Black Mirror and Warrior, landing cast roles in Raised by Wolves, Black Sails, Deep Blue Sea 3, Novocaine and BBC’s Troy: Fall of a City.
He has produced award-winning local and international short films and designed action sequences for a number of breakout productions in South Africa. DeVille frequently collaborates with other filmmakers and creators to produce high-quality narrative-driven action for the screen.
